Not sure you are an AOPA member, but it might be worth it to talk to their aeromedical department and have your issues' confidentially answered by one of their consulting AMEs. I do not have any names off the top of my head, but I know there are AMEs out there who like pilots and will do what it takes to sort out any issues with OKC direct, rather than throw you under the bus and let you figure it out on your own.
