I'm of the opinion that I'll believe the numbers when I see them, but Franke will have to do something constructive to cash out in 3-4 years. Run the op more efficiently? Sure. But if Spirit is any guide, growth will be part of that equation as well.

I don't necessarily agree that the company has to take on debt with additional used 320s. The bird I saw at GYR (223) is from a defunct Japanese airline, and we're supposedly getting favorable lease terms, and more AC from that source while it's available. I'm no accountant, but it don't think leases are typically structured as long-term debt. It's more often operating cost depreciated same-year.

As far as the atmosphere around here, I'm new enough that I'll have to defer on that one. I'm also in Chicago, and it's a much different vibe than you and my training buds describe in DEN.
Having said that, and having owned a business a few years back, I understand there are consequences for creating a toxic atmosphere. Franke is a bottom line short-term guy, but NK is doing alright and moral seems decent given their current compensation situation-

Maybe I'm being naive, but I'm hoping management is taking a hard look at the state of the regional industry- it might cost less medium to long term to create reasonable levels for staffing and compensation than create a revolving door? Guy left right after his type ride a few weeks back to head to a legacy class.....

I was under the impression that new hires had a training contract...he just paid them the 17k?
