To answer the original posters question, lots of people commute to reserve at AA. Be careful. It is extremely unpredictable right now. I'm 777 reserve and live in base 45 min's from airport and I feel "uneasy" It is chaotic.

Right now each month you bid for your RAP (start period) coming off a day off at beginning of month. I chose the 0700
So today i'm off, I start at 0700 tomorrow. Next week coming off days off I again start at 0700. On my 2nd day i can proffer a different start time.

But, next months bid package for my airplane only has 1600 as start coming off days off. This was in no way agreed to.

I spoke with a panel member reserve committee yesterday, first email then phone.

Right now Reserve at AA is "Cut the Blue wire or Red?"

I'll get back to you tomorrow when things change again.
