What's humorous is that the MPL would be considerably more desirable to the regional airlines even if it costs as much (or slightly more) than a sustainable pay increase. But just like substantial pay increases, it's not really possible given the regional business model. Now if the major airlines are willing to foot part of the bill, while the regional covers the rest, then ok...but either way, I imagine this being an uphill battle here in the states. We have plenty of available pilots here stateside, they're just lacking motivation to come back to work.
