You're using "short cut" pilots as an example of bad pilots that cause plane crashes, when clearly all levels of aviation have their fair share of crashes and incidents. 121 flying in the US is, statistically, the safest possible way to travel (we all know this). So acting like the regionals hiring low time pilots causes planes to plummet from the sky isn't really accurate. Planes still come crashing down at a pretty predictable rate throughout all perceived "levels" of the industry.
