I had no idea AWA had such a good record. One fire in the wheel well and hydraulic failure is not a pilot fault. One hijacking, one drunk case where the plane never taxiied, and one veered off runway during landing. Of those four, there's one attributed to pilot error as far as aircraft handling goes (not the drunk one).

I'm impressed, AWA must be doing something right. If what the Wiskey guy wrote is true about these recent 5 incidents being all East and not West, then maybe there are cultural issues to be examined. Didn't an East guy write a letter to a judge and complain about his time at AWA being a kiddy airline with a joke of a training operation?
