I guess you could be one of those guys who goes to a new regional every 2 years when your promised upgrade doesn't materialize. And start over at first year pay several times. And lose longevity, 401k contributions, etc. That ends up costing more than a lot of people realize. Moral of the story: whoever has the short upgrade today may not tomorrow and vice versa.
This is of course true, and is not necessarily bad advice.
But, why not at least take a shot at the quick upgrade at mesa, psa, or compass? At least there's a chance it will work out. Going to XJT, or pinnacle, eagle, or the almighty skywest is GUARANTEEING a long stay in the right seat.
The answer is always no if you don't ask.
