Also, I keep hearing everyone say go chase the upgrade, but if that was really the most successful route how come everyone who was ever on the Great lakes, Silver airways, Seaborne, Colgan payroll isn’t dominating the mainline new hire classes. I feel like these options only apply to current mainline employees children, and everyone else is a sucker for following them. Am I really to believe if PSA hired me today I would be a captain in 16 months , get 1000 Tpic within the following 12 and be at a mainline hew hire class in just over 2 years from now? That sounds like absolutely ridiculous advice. Pilots have been preaching that tune since 9/11 and it has really hasn’t ever worked for anyone other than the children of the industry.
Worse case scenario, even if you aren't hired for 8 years(unlikely), imagine what your QOL and Net Worth would be with 6+ years in the Left Seat instead of all 8 years in the right.
