You, I and most Judges like balance. If you can look past the marketing to the product, there are a lot of well balanced beers out there. IPA's were mostly never intended to taste great, they were the answer to a lack of refrigeration before the technology existed. Most are very unbalanced and bitter.
Lambic, Belgium style, ales might be to your liking, although I find wheat beers to be the wrong kind of texture for my palate. Often fruit is used to increase the acidity ... Try Sweetwater Blue and let me know what you think. If it was marketed more technically, it would have more snob appeal. But it is marketed as a chick beer which has resulted in many who would appreciate it passing it over without consideration.
It is good beer. The wonderful thing about beer brewing is you can come up with so many good ideas and variations.
