You can fly to the FAR's if you want to Do that. The company can't require it. If you want quality of life you will be able to have that with perhaps the exception of first year pilots. If you want more money you will have that option also. Hint, if Less work is your option get and stay senior. As a example Timbo is way senior to me but based on his own statements and monthly rant about his schedule seems to have a much lower Quality of life.
