Hey guys. Just a little update.
Got hired OCT 1, and been on line since January. I have been doing mostly DHL flying so my schedule has not had many changes at all. I believe there was a total of 3. I am based in ANC which takes a whole day to get to and from on the east coast. The good thing is I got a line right out of OE. I got a 60 day line for FEB and MAR. I worked 13 in FEB and 18 in MAR (still have to finish this trip, but all DHL so not expecting any changes).
So far I have not flown with anybody that made it a tortuous 15 hour flight! I know there are some, and have been warned! Very diverse group of pilots here, from Freight Dogs that deserve books written about them due to their experiences (Larry), full spread of military pilots, and regional guys. From my experience here so far, seems like the younger guys that left military and right into Atlas are looking to leave. The 76 guys have rough schedules, fly somewhere sit for 4 hours fly back 6 days in a row, are looking to leave. The previous carry freight guys or regional guys hoping to stay. Obviously these views may change once we see what we get on the next contract.
Recently we have had many pilots medicalling out! It got so bad the company is begging people to use all the means available to get their medical back! Hopefully this will help you guys out!
Just flew with an FO who has AQP scheduled for May. That is a good thing! Other then that this thread is spot on, and if you want to work here read the whole thing. Most of the guys that got hired have read it, just saying!
Good luck and hope to see you all here some day!
