I suppose, it could be an age discriminator if they made a distinction. In other words, if they allowed the exception for under 40, they would know ballpark how old the applicant was. Just rambling now. . . .
I'm under 40 and only do a 1st class medical once a year.... However, I haven't been fortunate enough to get any kind of email from Delta. Sounds like you need to get one this next week and email them that you have an updated medical. Good luck and keep us posted if that fixes it and gets you the invite
