Just looking at the Pro Pilot salary link, at FO pay rates in particular:
The heavy international jets seem to average $75,000 to $90,000. The large cabin jets seem to be $65,000 to $80,000.
Now, I know that money isn't everything, but given that the general experience level amongst these two categories must be pretty similar to the experience-set of those competitive for the legacy carriers, do those figures not seem slightly low?
I suspect that a couple of years in to a legacy would see an FO earning more than FOs in those large and even heavy intl. corporate positions. They are also on a tiered pay scale which will see them earn considerably more in the coming years, too (if the pro pilot rates are accurate).
So, if my assumption on experience levels is correct, is the upcoming hiring at the legacy carriers going to threaten the candidate pool at corporate jobs? Consequently, is the corporate pay going to be pressured up?
I'm making big assumptions here, I apologise. I'm suggesting that taking good and the bad of the corporate world, other factors such as lifestyle, security, etc. probably balance one-another out.
I'm not sure on command times at corporate departments, I'm sure they're greatly varied, which is why I'm looking and comparing FO rates.
One thing you have to consider is in most of these large corporate jets, both guys up front are typed, captain qualified, and paid at the captain rates. Fractionals are different, but most large companies are flying with co-captains so the FO pay doesn't come into play.
