The guys saying you're likely to get displaced are probably wrong, and secondly our training is very straight forward.

Bid what you want. I did 2 training events when I was a probie (by choice- 88 then a couple months later 767), and it was not a big deal at all. If I was a noob, I'd be all over the 7ER. You'll get a plenty of repetition with the domestic trips and plus get some nice international flying occasionally.

I tend to bid more for the airplane... though I won't commute for anything except a moonshot thing like 777 or captain. You'll typically get a line if you want it when you have a month with vacation.
