The 717, as of today, seems to have commutable trips but they're a few hours short of what the 88 would do for the same number of days. The 717 has 13 hour 3-days with 4 hours of flying, I did a 717 4 day with 7 hours of flying and 18 hours of credit.
Right now if you'd prefer a lot of 4 days, the 88 is the place to go. Not many on the 717. That will change. The company won't let you have, as I do next month, a 70 hour line with 25 hours of flying for very long.

I also live in base and would choose to sit reserve on another fleet anyway so that isn't a big consideration.
Here's the thing, you'll get at least a TOE in (unless I'm mistaken) and get to fly 2 international trips. So at the least, you'll get a taste of over the ocean international even if the remainder of the time it's all domestic. And it's the freaking 767. Can't go wrong. Go enjoy it for all that it's worth.
