Like I said, I don't believe this bunk. What you REALLY believe in is, "me, myself and I" and believe this is good for you NOW and have no concern for anything else. If this passes, you're going to regret your position in the long-run and if this fails, you're too self-concerned to CORRECTLY identify and act on what is really in your best interests.
No, my reasoning is if we vote this in now I get my flow and management has a vested interest in keeping eagle afloat. In a few years when new hires are scarce management will have to increase compensation to attract new hires and I'll get the flow + better benefits.
And I have correctly identified my actions. I update my apps to major airlines after every trip, I do volunteer work, and I'm going to job fairs this year. I am doing everything I can to escape this steaming pile of a job.
Can't remember who posted it but something along the lines of mainline only provides pay and pride, that's not true. Their schedules are better due to the nature of their flying and this the qol is infinitely superior to regionals. That is the reason I want over there.
As to Compass. I am comfortable making 40k + the 20k my wife makes. I could not afford to pay for a hotel in training + airfare to training + 24k my first year. All those things combined to make a significant financial hardship.
In the end I do believe this will get voted down and I am comfortable with that decision if it comes to pass. In either case I'm going to work the next 3 years at Eagle and if I can't get a career job I'm out. I'm at peace with however this plays out.
