Reading that email I don't think the senior pilots are making any choice. They obviously want a seniority system where as the other 75% (+/-) of pilots on property would want a reservation system. A res system is a great way to go, hopefully management running the show will stick with that (sounds like they are leaning toward it). I would assume it's management's choice on how the implementation is going to happen (yes/no?), not the top xx% of the pilots. It was after all management who decided the new boarding priority levels, sticking all non wholly owned carriers below mainline buddy passes even on their own aircraft.
