Sometimes the "abuse" of Mil leave is in the eye of the beholder. I know guys who take mil leave because the commute to the airline and their military gig. If they ever want any home time the take mil leave to complete there mil duty and still have days at home.

There are times I have taken mil leave even though I do not commute because I have lots of thinkgs going on at home and need the days off I get from the airline for these events. So I take 2 or 3 days from the airline to go get the mil job done.

But yes there are guys that play the mil leave game and sometimes do abuse it, but it is not a big majority.
