Locals are day trips with no overnight. Standups involve a late flight to an outstation, a few hours in a hotel, followed by the early flight back to the hub. They pay five hours for two legs with a nap in between. Used to be the nap was not required, if there were delays you could be up all night and never make it to the hotel but FAR 117 now requires that some hotel rest actually occur on these schedules.
