Sorry if this has been covered earlier in this post, I just didn't feel like scrolling through 820 pages of People Fighting.
What are the AVERAGE days on and hours by the end of the month. People at my current employment like to focus on the bad, such as "taxable travel to work, insurance costs, and a bunch of other garbage." I am not naive and I realize every place has its negatives, but what matters to me is days off, pay hours, and insurance quality and cost.
Thanks guys! Keep up the great posting!
Average days on:
It is all over the place. We get 13 or 14 days off per month. We have "R1" where you are on reserve, but at home. Some guys have had 2 weeks of R1. I talked to one guy who had about 60 days off in a row, more or less. My first 6 months I averaged 16 days at home. I would say I usually get 1-2 more days off at home than the minimum. If you are awarded a Reserve Line you can get extended up to 3? days...but not if you originally had a line...
Flight hours per month are also all over the place. 0 is the lowest, with probably about 90 max. Last 12 months: lowest month 33 hours, highest 79. Averaged 50 hours/month.
