I'm a third lister, and I don't agree with putting the former TWA folks behind me, or any third lister, to be honest. Age is huge here- I just feel everyone should have their shot at the top tier of the seniority pyramid. I'm not looking to benefit at the expense of else, but I am definately not going to be a rung on the ladder for someone to advance themselves at my expense either.
However, I also know that Flybywire is correct- the arbitrators at Uni-Cal ruled and set the precedent. In arbitration, precedent is everything.
There is no precedent in SLI's. If that were the case, every merger would have been modeled after the very first merger. UAL/CAL, DAL/NWA and SWA/ATI all had different issues and different outcomes. AA/U has its own issues, some of which were not part of that or any other SLI and what occurred in any aspect of UAL/CAL shouldn't necessarily dictate this SLI.
