Also, what in your opinion are the best places within driving distance to settle down for a NYC-based pilot? I'm expecting to get NYC (since my last-4 starts with a "0" and I will probably be one of the last in my class to pick) and don't want to commute, so we're anticipating a move to the greater NYC area. Eastern PA is probably not workable for LGA or JFK, so I'm thinking maybe north along the Hudson (~Poughkeepsie) or possibly CT. Thanks
I'm expecting the same thing, I start with a 2. I was talking to a Delta Guy I know that lives in Eastern PA. He said he was recently back in ATL for training and the Chief Pilot told him that 2-3 hours is acceptable for reserve because of the traffic and such. He's a 15+ year FO however, not still on probation. It's crazy expensive on first year pay anywhere else. Rentals look non-existant in the Milford/Metamoras area though.
Have any of the middle Feb CJOs gotten cleared to train lately? Last I saw, the 4 Feb folks were last cleared but about 2 weeks ago. I'm approaching 7 weeks post interview without a peep. AK did say though that no news is good news in these matters. Not expecting training until late October at best anyways, just trying to get a warm fuzzy.
