I have vacation next month. How exactly do I bid a reserve line if I want to slide the vacation. For example the vacation is the 11-17 but I want the 6-12. I know that I would bid slide -5 but then I want to use some of my off days around the vacation as well. So if the slide is accepted I have like the 5-13 off, but if it isn't accepted I want to bid my off days so I get the 6-10 off then start the vacation. I tried last time and my vacation wasn't slide and then all or nothings bids were all screwed up and my then start next wasn't right as well.

Perfect opportunity for "Else Start Next."
Bid your preferred schedule with the vacation slide you want> Assume that the slide is honored>Bid the days off as if the bid will be honored>then Bid "Else Start Next" in case the slide does not work.
You can then do the same thing with a slide -4, a slide of -3, a slide of -2 etc.
This means that whatever vacation slide does go through the rest of you bid will be tailored specifically to that bid. 
If you have any questions review the vacation slide memo but I recommend you call and have the PBS bid assist guy review it after you have it finalized.
