You will have a great career if you get in because you love to fly airplanes, want to be on the road and see different cities. Some get to the majors quick and some it takes half of their career if ever. You have to be ok with that. This is what it takes to stay in and stay happy. If you want big money and that's your drive, start your own business. Love it for just the flying and don't worry about the timing. Trying to time it will only get you frustrated. People who worry about the timing seem to be the first to be disappointed and quit. JMO
Very few people are end-all and be-all pilots. If you don't make it to the majors in whatever time-frame you give yourself, don't give a second thought to doing something else. I personally believe that giving yourself deadlines and time constraints isn't a bad thing. "I just love flying" is not the perfect excuse to ignore other potentialities.
