When I was at CP I consistently advocating recapturing that flying whether I came with it or not, though a scenario where the Compass pilots were stapled would have been obviously preferred. My views haven't changed in that regard, and I will say that I think any scope recapture scenario today would likely *only* work with bringing the pilots over. The majors currently have their plates full hiring just for retirements. Bringing the pilots flying the feed onto the mainline list and contract, temporarily (or permanently) keeping the flying on a separate certificate, would ensure the feed is staffed, unify the regional & mainline pilots, and give the regional pilots an upward career path that would justify a staple.
