I believe that the AA/US merger is a completely different scenario, especially since AA being in bankruptcy merging with a major airline that had already restructured doesn't have the same power to dominate the SLI. For this reason, I think new hires are just gonna get integrated by DOH. The rest will be a horrible mess, and I do feel for those pilots because at best, half the pilots will be ok with it, and at worst 75 percent or more will be upset.
The difference is on paper it's two airlines but in reality you are trying to merge three - arguably four - different pilot groups. It is what it is. The TWA guys got screwed as did AWA. And then you have AA and legacy US Airways guys to merge.
