(Assuming it is more than a day out). You could also swap the 3 day for a longer trip assuming it covered all the days that were even on reserves or less.
If the trip you are swapping for is a Qualified trip in open time it won't work. The pilot wanting to drop the trip on a day with insufficient reserve coverage will have it converted to a qualified drop. If you were to swap a trip for that it would create the same problem for scheds with an open trip in the pot with low reserve coverage.
Having said that, I thought the original poster was meaning why can't we swap with the pot for a same day trip. That would be nice. If I have a late leaving Europe today and there is a better trip in open time for today why can't I swap with the pot for it?
