The 739 is much easier to maintain. No lift trucks to get access to most of the aircraft. The third world carriers love this. As far as the tube goes, the 757, except for the nose and tail, has the exact same fuselage barring the 2L door that is on the 727, 727, and 707.
My point is that with the 2L door, you have an ability to turn the aircraft quicker because the cleaners can do 1st class and start boarding almost immediately. Since dwell time and all that rot has become so important, one would think they would look at these time lines as well as being important.
