The ridiculous new checklists that have us sitting with all engines running while we accomplish items that we used to do while taxiing, while also simultaneously blocking multiple gates for inbound flights is just one example. Last week I sat waiting for our gate to open for almost 30 minutes (after an on time arrival) in NRT while literally every single other gate was open. Let's do the math, four engines idling at 1500pph = 3000 pounds burned in that 30 minutes for NOTHING. And they want me to try to save them gas. Not gonna happen until they do too.
