No, you pay a monthly/yearly subscription to use it and its not cheap. That said, name one piece of proprietary software SkyWest has that doesn't work. They are actually pretty good at what they do, and another reason why they are lightyears ahead of everyone else.
I know exactly how it works, was just simplifying it. And if would save that much money, since Skywest according to you is great at their software, wouldn't they be doing this already?
There are soft time costs involved and software costs. I know management has looked at it, and thinks there could be something there like satellite domiciles, but all VPs have to sign off on it
