I cannot believe it took nine pages for someone to finally bring this up. 1000000% agree. What looks less professional: me not wearing my hat or the CA who just chastised me for not wearing my hat who can barely fit through the flight deck door (but still took his 17g/fat cookie upon check-in at a Doubletree)???
