Try to plan on moving asap. You don't want to use the call in honest policy ever while you are on probation. Termination would be a real possibility. You don't want to use it if you can avoid it once you are off of probation, either.
If you have made a honest effort to get to work and have the proper backups termination is not a possibility. DFW is a tough commute but you are not going to get fired if you have followed company policy. The failure to commute policy is also contractual. Getting a positive space backup is not however contractual and is at scheduling discretion.
