Here is something else you might want to keep an eye on as you leave Active Duty. The tax withheld from your retired pay will assume that it is your only income and may not be enough to cover your actual taxes due in April. You may also have some issues with state income taxes that you did not have while active. It is a whole new world with lots of new things to get under control. Best of luck.
