I think I know the "right answer" to that particular question, but its not about memorizing that. Its about your frame of mind and presentation. Make good decisions and show your work and you should be fine. Going in with "right answers" locked and loaded and they will see you coming a mile away. This is their job and they are VERY good at it.
In our manuals it paraphrases to be truthful to the PAX with regards to delay. But I think gloopy is right, they want to see your attitude when answering this type of question. I would have probably told the Captain, "yes sir". It is not a safety issue to make a white lie PA and I wouldnt want to start a 4-5 day trip challenging the Captain on the first day. On the other hand, you could tell the Captain that you have to use the lav immediately and for him/her to make PA.
