In our manuals it paraphrases to be truthful to the PAX with regards to delay. But I think gloopy is right, they want to see your attitude when answering this type of question. I would have probably told the Captain, "yes sir". It is not a safety issue to make a white lie PA and I wouldnt want to start a 4-5 day trip challenging the Captain on the first day. On the other hand, you could tell the Captain that you have to use the lav immediately and for him/her to make PA.

Gloopy is right and put it much better then I did. THAT is why interview prep is so important. Helps you craft your natural frame of mind to answer the interview questions.
