Some places have more than others. In 2.5 years at my current regional I've only flown with 1 captain that I could never stand to fly with again, and one more that I'd prefer not to fly with but could put up with. I feel like that's not too bad for 2.5 years. I think different airlines have different ratios of good:bad. I imagine hiring with phone interviews will lead to a bigger amount of the bad ones that couldn't get hired anywhere else.
