Which, although sounds outwardly stupid at first is actually the difference in pay between JB year one and a regional. So it washes out the same in terms of opportunity cost. And I save three - six months of time. And a likely commute. And don't have to buy a hat. They didn't buy it.
It probably revolves more around their perception of your ability to pass a checkride and get through training (which would have to happen if / when you go to the regionals). Based on your experience, my assumption is that you would have no issues with either a regional or JB.
