This shouldn't devolve into a "my school can beat up your school" or whatever. But some schools and some majors are significantly harder relative to a given GPA and that is an iron clad indisputable fact that I've never heard anyone even attempt to challenge before.
So true. I went from a 4.0 at my junior college, heavy on math and science classes, to a 2.9 at my 4 year engineering school (one of the top in the country). We would routinely get exams where the highest score was 40% correct. Then the mean was taken. In a room full of geniuses the average grade was a C. Now I can't get a call from Delta because I didn't major in art history.
