Default Reality check...

For those seriously considering coming here, bear in mind, and disregard at your own peril these stark realities:

You will take at least 15, very likely far more years to upgrade.

You will get shuffled around equipment and bases.

Due to the company moving crews on jumpseats, commuting on your own company will be challenging.

You will be astounded by the treatment you receive from management and the "common man/woman" employees who are beholden to that management. Or perhaps disgusted is a better word.

Given the management priorities at the highest level, the changing dynamic of the shipping business in general, the standard flux of the domestic/global economies of the world, your job security is as if not more vulnerable here than it used to be at passenger carriers.

If your spouse has a good job, and/or your family really likes where they are commuting is your best bet, because this place changes its mind on so many things so often it is foolhardy to make life changes based on what UPS is doing this week. And as I said before, it can be a huge pain.

If you can live with, and remember all this one, five, ten and twenty years from now without stomping your feet and crossing your arms like a jilted toddler and blaming those senior to you for these realities that a guy like me laid upon you, welcome aboard.
