Why not go somewhere that pays better to start anyway, and has a better link to its major? Eaglevoy offers guaranteed interviews after 2 years and 2000 hours - still better than PSA with their dribble of USair interviews. I think Compass has deals like that as well, and they pay better, and have a much better contract.
After a year or less you will be off to a major anyway, so why not pick a regional that doesn't have such a bad reputation right now AND help better the industry? I know you are new to this most likely, being a military guy, but the industry has the best hand it has had in some time. However, management is still beating us all up to fly bigger planes for even less money.
Just had an FO who was a C-5 guard guy. He had 2000TT and around 500 PIC. USair would not even look at him. After 10 months and 500 hours at a regional, he has an interview, which I am sure he will do fine at.
What part please. I'm really curious, or are you just saying anything that helps your point?
