The half wing is mostly on the Ual side of the house. My buddy on 756 said in his first year he had 1 yes 1 captain treat him to anything. On the 737 there are more than a few but from what I see and hear the Ual side treats the half wing much better fwiw.
It's definitely not universal at UAL. I ran into a Half-Winger in ORD. He is on the 76T at EWR. He had an DCA 76T check airman. He flew with him for two weeks. I asked the half-winger if he was taken care of. He responded that he was happy to be here. I pressed a little further and he told me that the check airman captain (the type that make big bucks) bought the grand total of ONE COFFEE during the entire two weeks they were paired together. I apologized on behalf of the rest of us who understand and offered to buy him coffee which he politely declined.
