Your observation is mostly spot on. From someone with even more time in this business (30 years flying, 25 professionally, and 50 years old), I've noticed the same thing, for the most part. There are certainly a few folks here who know how to debate respectfully, but it seems the majority of posters here are relative kids. They shoot from the hip, are ALWAYS the smartest guy in the room, and know EVERYTHING (in their esteemed opinion, anyway). If one dares to disagree, they usually blast that person with some thinly veiled personal attack, then gloat about it. Absolute dead giveaway to their maturity level and (likely) young age.
It's not nearly as bad on the Major airline forum (although there are a few winners there too).
For some reason, respectful posts seem to be ever more rare these days.
