Big, bad, arrogant DL pilots wrote strike assessment checks to Comair pilots when they were out on strike to try and bring the RJ pilots closer to parity with mainline. I checked for Comair struck work while in the 72 out of CVG to help my fellow 121 pilots improve the profession, since only DL Mainline pilots could easily REPLACE Comair pilots and crush their strike. We helped Comair pilots become the highest paid RJ pilots in the industry..but I guess our efforts were no big deal since we all look down on RJ pilots and their families.
We had a "no furlough" clause in our C2K contract that gave RJ pilots unprecedented growth in addition to our pay rates...then came the RJDC that did nothing but perpetuate the "class warfare". But I guess I "sold" scope, knowing that 911, ect would put nearly all of DL's domestic lift in the boneyard. Then, after 911, the Comair MEC, refused to let furloughed DL pilots sit in the RIGHT seat to keep some income coming in. Why do I have to keep telling this story?! Cause guys keep spinning the history to fit .."Big, bad DL is screwing us. They want us to actually interview for a job, even though there are 11k guys eagerly waiting for the same opportunity. Mainline DL pilots are arrogant jerks..they don't care about the RJ guys"..yeah, right buddy!
Wow, 3 base closures, downgrades, and you had to pay to non-rev on mainline? Yeah, you had it pretty bad. How long did it take you to upgrade to the left seat? How many hours of TPIC do you have?
You're in the front of the biggest hiring wave in history..with all that experience..you can go anywhere..just don't complain if you have to actually interview for the job at UAL, AA or SWA.
Remember, this whole thread is about 9E pilots being angry that they get SPECIAL consideration for a job at Delta..I don't get why y'all are so upset.
Good luck.
I wrote those comair strike checks too. Probably making a fraction of what you were and with a new baby at home and delivering pizza part time to make ends meet. How bout you ace? Ever had to work two jobs while being an airline pilot to make ends meet?
No rewriting history here. I saw it happen before my own eyes. But you just keep having that delta attitude brother. You are giving all the good guys at delta a bigger hill to climb up to gain respect that you and guys with attitudes like yours keep tearing down.
And, I have always planned on having to interview for a job. No sense of entitlement here. I have had to interview for every job I have ever had and nobody has given me a damn thing. I have worked for everything I have. And I am proud of it!
As far as time goes, about 13000 hours and probly about 7000 TPIC. 6.5 year upgrade all while starting over at a new regional years ago.
And I am not upset with the endeavor/delta
flow. I have no desire to work for delta. I do get sick of the "im better than you" delta pilot attitude though. Cant tell you how many times i have been on a dl js with the captain spewing his insulting comments to the fo about us regional guys. (i even had one 75 Ca tell a fa the reason dl closed dfw was because of those damn lil rjs). Preciate ya.
All the while i show nothing but courtesy and respect to EVERY person on my js.
And how many times have i said hi or given a nod to a dl pilot in a terminal and received no acknowledgement in return?? Too many to count. So i dont do it anymore. Unless they do it first.
So just keep telling us how bad you have it ace. Its definitely entertaining.
