In an ideal world, a major airline would prefer to hire a candidate with experience that most closely resembles their own operations. That might mean jet engines, glass, fms. But airlines may not have that luxury in the coming years.

My advice would be to choose a regional airline that you would be ok with spending the rest of your career at. Nothing is for certain.
