I would be careful on thinking the 717 is coming to LA soon unless you have some inside info. Publicly the company is not planning a west coast base and they have put out on multiple occasions that the next base will be NYC. With the gate limits there I see them focusing on larger aircraft there.
Please see the July Crew Resources newsletter. When I recommended the DTW717 for the fng I was think a year out...he'd be able to do a base transfer and slip into LA instead of waiting several years for a 73n slot.
