You are absolutely right!....Well...50/50.... I am an "ALL IN" kind of person, so that's why I am trying to really get this right...well at least get it right for what I want! Anyway, its not wrong to try and NOT have a crappy commute, or to seek the most job satisfaction for you and your family. Blind devotion to a job/company works for some, but if you aren't trying to better your circumstances, you might as well be a robot, IMHO. I expect it to be tough wrt commutes and reserve, what I'm trying to figure out is how to make that time the shortest possible!
I am also refreshed to see that you are not a lemming and that you are honest and are an individual. I know the hiring has started and I know most will sell their soul and change their behaviors to get hired (kind of like what I did in my mid to late 20s
). Your truthfulness might not get you hired (might show a lack of motivation or diligence in an interview-), but your dedication to what you and your family need/want is very refreshing and courageous (Probably the way I would be today).
