If they can keep those flights (and possibly additional later ones) on time, shouldn't they try to do so? Our performance numbers need all the help they can get. Unless over guarantee the reserve crew is little to no additional cost.
Good point. But what about the cost to deadhead? And in our current financial situation, wouldn't they rather take an hour delay then waste money and resourses? Just makes more sense to me
