Ask some of the Minny based ex NWA pilots how well that has worked out for them after the merger. Ask all the Dallas based pilots and FAs how that's working out for them. There are no absolutes and you never know how the airline is going to look 10 or 20 years from. You need to be prepared to commute for a while if you want to make it. From my class there are a number of guys who moved to Atlanta and were furloughed 15 mos later and were forced to commute to NYC after their return before they could get back to Atlanta. If you're not prepared for some sort of sacrifice at some point in your airline career then you are probably getting into the wrong business.
