On a totally separate note, I'd like the airbus NYC. I notice its gaining popularity. As a junior guy in my class of 50, should I expect that it wont even be available for me to select?
Here's a few data points:

The last NYC 320 went to number 40 of 50 in our class (we only had 11 assigned so other 9 must have gone to holdback pool). The 717s all went in the top 20 and seemed very popular for those wanting to be based in ATL--??? as one person pointed out the 717 will fly to every "ville" and "berg" within 600 miles of ATL. 737s were the next to go and the last 10 fought over the ATL and NYC 88s with only the last 4 having to take NYC. Seemed like many were very focused on location over aircraft which worked in favor for those of us willing to go to a junior base so that we could hold a line on the aircraft of choice.

The training pipeline is driving what aircraft can be released to each class so imagine with the big classes there will be some cycles if certain sims get backed up. For example we didn't have any ERs so wouldn't be surprised to see them for this next class. Sim dates for most of us start in 1-3 weeks but a few platforms have folks waiting over a month (88s).

Didn't see any late night or early AM sims on the sched but that may be a reality in the coming months for new hires as the sim machine gets into motion and hiring stays steady. My sched is straight 5 days on and 2 days off for entire sim period but others aren't as predictable. Also many of us are working right through 4th of July holiday.

I've also been able to book positive space for all my 2-day breaks.
