As I posted the block hour average has gone from 600 to 800 per year. Another poster mentioned the system block hours were the same in 07 as 01 yet we had 25 percent fewer pilots. That is all correct. It is about 25%.
You may not care how we compare against other airlines but if we are working for release from the NMB they will. It's a key component of total pilot block hour cost. I fully realize that some of the productivity issue is the result of managements fleet plan choices where they seek out every orphaned and bastard aircraft type to operate. DALPA will certainly have to make that point in negotiations but they are also going to have to provide numbers on what shortfalls are contractual verses fleet plan against our competitors.
